This Journey
Our Story
Maddie and Joffy Bastard met at Sarara camp in remote Northern Kenya. Maddie had left behind a life in Los Angeles to travel the world, and after 15 countries, didn't make it further than Kenya where Joffy was embedded in a lifelong career in conservation and tourism.
The couple now live in Cape Town with their three children Roan (6) Jude (4) and Cedar (1).
“As a family, we are passionate about being in wild spaces and experiencing wild things. Keeping our children connected to nature is paramount, and gives us an excuse to continually explore our wonderful continent. We have created The Safari Advisory to share our deep knowledge of the African safari world, and offer expert insight into how to craft journeys that go beyond the great, and into the realm of extraordinary.
